Weren't the soldiers you had to kill in Doom like zombies anyway? Perhaps whatever you read was just referring to them, and the demons will still be apart of it? Or maybe it's just all rumors, I don't know, i'd like a source of where you got this info.

There's a new He Man film in preproduction, John Woo is currently attached to direct.

The Silent Hill film project interests me more than any video game to film project ever...mainly because the game's creaters have some control over the film. This may not be so anymore, but last I read about it, alot of Konami staff was attached to the project, guiding the storyline and cast choices and such. That's the way to go if you want to get it done right, I think.

i love movies but ive never been a john woo fan. He's got a couple of good movies (particularly his hong kong work) but overall, too much wank. I felt insulted watching Face/off, how stupid does he expect his audience to be? And can anyone fucking shoot straight in that movie?
