Wow ! I just finished watching the extended version of Return of the King. I just got to watching it even though I bought it 2 weeks ago.... it's been a busy December for me. It was insane and I can't believe the stuff they left out of the theatrical release !!!! I felt a couple important parts were left out of the Theatrical release.

So now that all 3 of the Extended Versions are released .....what was everyone's favourite movie ? I definitely vote for Return of the King with The Two Towers coming a close second. I know all 3 movies make up the whole story BUT I would surely re-visit Return of the King more than the other 2 movies.....vote away.....as you can see I'm a Lord of the Rings geek ! LOL ! Best movies ever, IMO !!!!!!!!!!!

The Two Towers for me, the Helms Deep battle is my favorite from all 3 movies. 8)

Two Towers also probably, funniest, coolest battles, although, the obvious downside to it is that as a story, it really has neither a beginning or an end.

:)

my favourite of the lord of the rings BOOKS would have to be book 3. Not only does it end with all the glory you saw on the movie version however there is a whole lot more afterwards.

Definitely one of the best books I've read, I strongly recommend everyone reads it... I have the audio book as mp3s if anyone is interested, its pretty good.

is it maybe slightly uncool that I haven´t even seen one of them? Oh well, I gotta do something about that.

Return of the king is the one for me. It's the best book, and also the best movie.

I actually loved the original animation and bought it on DVD.
The bit where the riders are painted over, at the river, with red eyes scared the shit out of me when I was younger.

I'm not a huge fan of the recent films but I do like them.

I think it's funny comparing Peter Jacksons earlier stuff like Bad Taste and Brain Dead to the absolute hugeness of The Lord of the Rings films, lol.

Still baffles me how he pulled it off.

Only seen the first two, and I prefer the books, like any good nerd would.

I finally bought the extended Return Of The King yesterday. I plan on watching it sometime today. And I chose ROTK as my favorite of the 3 too. :) I love all 3 movies, but there are certain scenes in the last that are just hard to beat.

Now I just need to read the books...I already have all 3 plus The Hobbit and The Silmarillion.

I still prefer the books. Jackson fucked up the ending and I take that personal.
but on the other hand...had he actually filmed the real thing we'd have FOUR movies I guess...

The Return Of The King, then The Two Towers.

I've seen the movies after I've read the books twice.
Ok... I know that there are some differences, and I found some of them disturbing, but in the end I think that Peter Jackson has made a good job. The movies are very good and I love them. I prefer the books, but these movies rule!
