I love listening to this every once in a while. I have an mp3 of it and the first time I heard it I was blown away.

I've always preferred Sol Niger Within to any Meshuggah recording, to be honest. I can get bored of Meshuggah nowadays, but for some reason something about that solo one never bores me, though I can't really put my fingers on it...

Where did this come from?

I have his solo album but haven't listened to it enough to immediately recognize anything off it, is it from there?

no OnE - it's not from Sol Niger. It's a demo track displaying the capabilities of the 33 breath controller.

Thordendal is one of my favorite guitarists.

There are some cool little nuggets and demos floating around out there including stuff he did as Drumkit From Hell tests - including an instrumental re-record of "The Mouth Licking What You've Bled" plus another track called "Sonor Of Metal" which is an instrumental excerpt of "Vanished".

Very cool stuff.
