Talk about whatever you want to here, but stay correct

That list wasn't very good. I love Dream Theater, but you can clearly see in their latest albums that they're trying to find a larger audience. There last album was more metal, and had a muse rip-off!

I have absolutely no problem with Tom Araya's religiousness:

"I was born and raised Catholic, so it's in my blood. I don't go to church.... I was born and raised Catholic, which is about the extent of my religion. (...) I had my first Holy Communion. I am not an atheist; I believe in God. But my religion ends there. I have my own personal belief system that is so strong it allows me to do what I do. I don't have to worry about going to Hell because of SLAYER, you know? Everyone has a personal belief system and believes in life somehow."

Nothing wrong with that.

The only problem I have with Slayer is their output after the departure of Dave Lombardo post Seasons In The Abyss: horribly produced, and since Diabolus In Musica with a strong nu-metal tendency, thanks to Kery King's fondness for trendy bands like Slipknot. You can call that selling out to a certain degree. Their last album was half a step back in the right direction, though, thanks above all to Lombardo.

AC/DC? How can a band sell out when they are already a worldwide success?

As for Slayer, Diabolus was a much better album than most people give it credit for. Better than Christ Illusion, if you ask me...

And I think people who believe that "Catholicism is in your blood" are retarded. Sorry, Tom, but having Catholic parents doesn't mean shit. God told me that Himself when I was on acid once...

The concept of "selling-out" is so juvenile and so retarded that I don't think this discussion has any merit at all.

Good to see Strapping mentioned though, as always!

I can make a list like that, too, and then post it online and have people believe what I say goes, just like that asshat that wrote that article. Fuck, that's horrible.

Unfortunately, Jeff Hanneman wrote almost ALL of Diabolus, so Kerry had little to do with it. Kerry had WAY more to do with GHUA, almost everything, although Hanneman wrote the two best songs on that CD (Disciple and God Send Death).

Christ Illusion and Divine Intervention are both pretty solid though, despite being not as 'classic' as the old material.
