What about Faith No More?
And you don't count his collaborations ie. Dillinger, Lovage, Rhazel, The executioners, Bjork (to name a few)?

I reckon Tomahawk is better than peeping tom (probably my least fave of his.

Disco Volante is probably the worst album he's been on...... just kidding :) Its probably my fave.

Greg Reason wrote:Much, much better than prior Tomahawk outings. I still rate this band lowest on Patton's food-chain but this one is a winner.

So you can understand where I'm coming from this is a rough:

Mr Bungle (esp Volante)
Fantômas (esp Delirium)
Mike Patton (esp Pranzo Oltrazista)
Patton and Kaada
Maldoror
Zorn related projects (esp Hemophiliac)
Peeping Tom
Tomahawk

That's basically it. He's done some fantastic stuff for other people (his appearances on Subtle and Team Sleep's stuff is especially cool) and I tend to prefer him while he's working with other people it seems.

Whatever his latest one is, that shit is fucking golden. The sixties sounding one with strings and Italian lyrics. Can't remember what it's called but some live recordings are floating around and it's wonderful.

I like what I've heard so far, but it feels a bit more like a fantomas album, rather than a tomahawk album.

Best Tomahawk to date. I agree with Greg Reason; Tomahawk is lower on his list of projects. But let's not forget, everyone; IT'S NOT HIS GODDAMNED PROJECT! I hate it how people blame Patton for Tomahawk's perceived shortcomings. He doesn't write any of their music! he's just the singer/effects guy! If you want to blame someone, try Duane Denison!

Yeah, Duane's lost it a bit since his The Jesus Lizard days.

I like the new Tomahawk, but I don't think it's anything amazing. Just a good, solid record.

Agreed. I wouldn't say that Tomahawk has ever made any "amazing" music. They simply don't have the same chemistry as Bungle or Faith No More. But music doesn't have to be amazing for me to enjoy it. I listen to a lot of stuff which falls short of that mark.
