I was just sampling through the tracks on iTunes and at first glance these seem to be the strongest/most interesting selection since seventh son.

I'll buy it anyway... like I'm programmed to buy any Iron Maiden Album with Bruce or Paul singing.

This album is boring. I don't care if there are a few good tunes, the album, as a whole, is boring. All but two songs follow the same structure. It's boring, middle-of-the-road Maiden. 5 out of 10 is accurate.

Just because a bunch of fanboy dingleberries want to live in the asscrack and swing from the sweaty nuts of Iron Maiden because they think it's trendy means nothing. This is one of the worst Maiden albums ever. Suck it up, fags.

As far as Don Kaye's retarded 5.5/10 review is concerned, he wrote the liner notes to Sabbath's recent and totally needless 'Greatest Hits 1970-1978' compilation, which was executive-produced by - Sharon Osbourne.

Iron Maiden should learn that good progressive bands (even a lot of bad ones too) build the drama of a song with things other than intros and that if you use the same technique over and over again it becomes redundant and loses its effect.

It's still wayyyy too early for me to say my favourite album of the year since I haven't heard the new Converge, Arsis, Psyopus, Estradasphere, Isis or Zero Hour yet. I didn't like Amputechture because they lost all of the intensity and energy that they had on De-Loused and Frances. And Kayo Dot's album may rocket up the rankings because I've really been getting into maudlin of the Well a lot more than I ever have.

Right now The Paper Chase are leading the bunch though.

The new Isis is great, TMV is better though...

This one isn't about energy. This one is about TRIPPIN. Listen to some Mingus and then listen to TMV.... One great big circle I see and it makes me smile very widely!

To me energy is what made The Mars Volta so unique and great though, Amputechture is "just" an above average prog album. I like when Cedric Bixler sounded like he was going to collapse and/or implode with every vocal line he sang. The new Isis is good, I really like the more agressive drumming, although the snare sounds kind of flat (I hope that's just from the rip of the leak though), if they keep going in this direction they might actually start rivalling Neurosis .

New Disillusion is just umm... Wow. I did not expect that. That's all I can really think to say about it.

Mars Volta doin their own tour to Aus in September. Shall be glorious because they're coming to Perth! Woot....
