I remember all the good press they got when their self-titled album was released two or three years ago. At least enough to get me exited, but when I heard them for the first time, I was disappointed - sounded like 08/15 alternative/rock/pop/whatever to me.

So I almost forgot about Billy Talent, until I heard "Devil In A Midnight Mass" some weeks ago. The first time I heard it my reaction didn't differ that much from the one I described above, but by the second or third time I listened to it, I had the feeling of "getting" it. And that was only the beginning. I couldn't get the damn song out of my head! And now that also This Suffering or Red Flag caught my attention, I have to give those guys credit for being capable of writing simple, but rocking kick-ass songs with melodies that won't leave your head for weeks!

Well, the singing still seems to be a major problem for some people

Anyway, your thoughts!

I love both their albums and for me the vocals are one of the best things. I like his schizo sounding voice.

They can write some damn fine catchy tunes, i think my favourite on the new album is Where is the Line. That has a brilliant chorus.

Both albums are the sort you can just stick on and enjoy instantly without too much thought needed. I guess their just good pop songs which anyone can enjoy.

I have NHL 06, and every song on it is shit.

The most annoying song, however, is Red Flag by Billy Talent.

blah, blah blah blaaah blah, blah, blah blah, the red flag blah blah blah blah blah blaaaaah blah... UGH

Even worse, people used to be like "lol romit looks like that brown billy talent guy".

I hate them.

I hate this mediocre alternative act and their annoying bitch of a "singer" with a passion!

Seen Billy (no) Talent once when they supported The Dropkick Murphys (great) + The Bones (even greater) here in Germany and he (or is it she?) pissed me off! What a pretentious bitchy drama queen onstage persona and vocal delivery. His (her?) performance was almost unbearable. What a laughable diva! Yuck!

Now I'm pissed!

Almost.

I don't remember being blown away by their last album, but II ranks very high on my list of albums released this year, some very catchy songs on it.
